Okay so I know I am a little late (7 months) and out of order but I just wanted to put it out there that Imade our Halloween Costumes this year! (all of them!) I was so excited too! I love being on theme so this year we decided to go as bumble bees! I wanted chris to be on theme with us too but for some strange reason he didnt want to be a Bee, I wonder if it was because of the tutu??? So I thought for a while and came up with nothing! Well Aubrey also wanted him to be on theme and came up with his costume... a Bee Keeper! She is so stinkin' smart! So here are some pictures from halloween to dhow off our cute bee costumes!

Ben's 1st Trip to the Aquarium! (and a few other adventures)

Yesterday was a pretty hectic day... but first we will start with the aquarium and get to the hectic part second... So in the morning Krystal and I took Ben to the aquarium. He loved looking at all the fish and crawling around and looking at all the other kids running around the aquarium (there was at least 8 feild trips going on...we counted the busses) So here are some pictures from that...

We didnt get to go outside to look at the rays, or sharks, or birds because it was raining, but we still had fun! So after the aquarium we went to Wienerschnitzel for lunch and then to ikea to window shop! Well... we were at Ikea when Shannon called ... (for those of you who cannot follow how Krystal and I are related pay close attention ... Shannon is my Sister-in-Law and Krystals Mom) Sje called to tell us my niece (Krystal's sister) was in a car accident and was stuck and we needed to go and get her. We were in the middle of Ikea... think of how hard it is to get out of Ikea with a clear head... needless to say Krystal was spinning in circles trying to find the little floor arrows thattell you how to get out of Ikea! well I am going to tell you a secret Ikea doesnt want you to know, Those arrows dont nesecarilly lead to the exit, they go towards more stuff to look at amd buy, lucky for us I window shop at Ikea often so I was able to get us out in a jiffy! So we cancled all our plans for the rest of the night and went on our way to go save Tiffiny! Now I think I should pause at this point in the story and let everyone know that Tiffiny is OK! She was pretty shaken up but no injuries! So that was a blessing! OKay on with the quest... We drive to Garden Grove, find Tiffiny and Shannons smashed up car on the side of the road... She was not in an easy spot to get to... so as we are attempting to flip around somehow we find the other guy and his squished up truck and stop to tell him that we found Tiffiny and we are going to get her so they can exchange information (when thye went to pull off to the side of the street they somehow managed to lose track of each other) So he was not a happy camper.. he had called the police and reported it as a hit-and-run because he thought she left and so on. So I assured him we would be right back to which he snapped back "She better get here before the police!" Okay so now the pressure is on to get Tiffiny! We figure out a way to get behind her and had her hop in the car and I hopped out to sit with Shannons car so it didnt look like we abandoned a smashed up car that was blocking traffic! Well I also took Ben, the toy he was playing with and the diaper bag, so I go to get into the car and the passenger side was so smashed that the front door wouldnt open! Well I am not about to get in the driver seat for a number of reasons...
1. I am not going into traffic holding my 11 month old nephew!
2. I do not want to be implicated as the driver of the at-fault smashed up car! :)
3. I didnt want someone to side swipe us while sitting in the driver side
well lucky for us the back passenger door opened and we got in that way! Well Ben wanted to play in front so I rather un-gracefully climbed my way into the front passenger seat (with Ben holding onto me like a baby chimp bc he couldnt wait for me to get to the front and get him LOL) So while I am baby sitting the car Krystal and Tiffiny were exchanging info with the other driver. Well Deana (my nephew Bryce's fiance) got home from school and was able to drive Shannon and all the insurance info to the other guy! So info is all exchanged, no injuries reported to the police, and we are ready to go on our merry way. So Krystal, Tiffiny, and Deanna all go home. Me Shannon and Ben said goodbye to the nice police man, strapped Ben in and were ready to go, turrned on the car, and about 15 seconds later it died! So we call Krystal to get Ben and wait for a tow. 30 minuted later a tow truck comes (yay!) it is not the right tow truck it has to be towed on a flat bed because it has all wheel drive (boo!) Another 30 minutes and the right tow truck comes along, this time we said goodbye to the police office for real and went to the dealership and car rental place where we spent another hour and finally made it back to Shannons! Phew!
After all that adventure we decided to call our hubbys and have dinner at Hometown Buffet where we had a lot of laughs and got to tell our adventures to Chris and Ruben!

Cake #2

Last night we had lesson #2. We made our cakes with a basketweave and roses. it took me forever to get the hang of the roses...but once I did it seemed so easy! Krystals cake looked like a GIANT compared to mine but that was just because we used different sized cake pans...oh and she made 2 cake mixes and I made one :D I will be putting Cake #3 on here next week so be sure and check back!

Krystal and I wanted to start to learn how to decorate cakes, so we were going to take a class @ JoAnn, BUT they were all full and we didnt want to have to pay (I get free classes but I was going to pay for half of Krystals to make it fair) My sister-in-law Shannon is great @ cake decorating (she made our wedding cake) so she offered to teach us. We had our first lesson this Monday, character Cakes, Krystal and I both decided on pumpkin shaped cakes. So here are some pictures. I hope to update each week so you can see our progress (exciting right?)

Last night Jessie and I had our very first Little Bow Show! It was soo much fun!!! We put out all of our handmade goodies (bows, headbands, jewlery, cards, and baby blankets) and invited our friends over to shop!! We were very impressed with our turn out and can't wait (litterally we are too excited to wait) for our next one...wink wink amber!! We had the intention of taking pictures with all of our friends there but after an exausting day of chasing around 2 little ones, cleaning and re-cleaning when they took everything out again, setting up and finishing last minute projects, we were too pooped to remember to do anything, so after everyone left I snapped a few pictures of the table...not very good pictures...but that is beside the point!

Okay so our niece Krystal is about to have a baby boy which is very exciting... I was a little sad that I didnt have anything to make for him bc I am much better @ making stuff for baby girls and Jessie had the whole rag quilt thing cover (darn there went the one handmade gift I could give) but then I stumbled across a whole bunch of tutorials for a car seat canopy and thought that that was something I could do for a girl or a boy (I am not giving direct credit to any one blog since I looked at so many and used diffrent aspects of all of the ones I saw...sorry) Anyway I am pretty sure Krystal does not read this so I am going to post it now instead of waiting until May after the shower! I used the crab print bc Krystal is having an ocean themed shower and nursey and I am a sucker for anything red white and blue!

We were SOOOOO cold!! I was wearing 2 shirts a light sweater a heavier sweater 2 pairs of pants and I had a blanket! It didnt help!

A little warmer this is us outside of Target! Around 3:30...We never went to bed on Thanksgiving...we went to the disney store @ midnight, old navy @ 2, Walmart (kinda) @ 3, Target @ 4, and Joanns @ 6! It was fun and we saved a TON of money!

Aubrey asked me one day to help her with a Christmas present for her mom...I said sure and I thought we would go to target and pick someting out...So I arranged a sleepover so we could go shopping...I asked her what she wanted to get for her mom and she had some BIG plans! Apparently she had thought about this for a while, She said she wanted to do a scrapbook all about her mom and her (in kindegarden they did an all about me book, which is most likely where she got part of her idea) she said she wanted pictures of her mommy and her when the were babies and all sorts of stuff! So I took her to Grandmas house and we started looking for pictures of little Amber...Aubrey picked out all the pictures of Amber and all the pictures of her that we used, helped me copy them, put them in the book and decided what the captions would say and wrote them herself...I did most of the sticking down bc I am really anal about things being straight...but she used the sticker maker and did most of the work! The book turned out super cute and Amber loved it!

She was soo funny she said she looked like Handy Manny! Oh and she said I had to put her hair in a bun so she could work! She is sooo funny!

Red Cross Blood Drive

Chris and I participated @ a Red Cross Blood Drive this past friday night at church! It was my first time giving blood...the giving blood part was okay but some of the questions were so silly...Such as...I handed the lady my drivers license and this was the conversation that follwed:

"Whats your name"

"Rachel Shearer"

"Can you spell your name for me please"

Really? Really? So that just seamed a little silly...other than that the only painful experiance was the finger "poke" it was so not a poke! It was a stab with a giant knife!!!!!!!!! Okay well it was a poke but it felt like the giant knife wound more! Chris had a little bit of a bruise from his bc when he was almost done the blood stoped coming out and they had to wiggle his needle around! YUCKY! In all our Stake donated 66 units of blood! Woo Hoo!

Okay so I stayed late and watched the girls the night before Sarah's last day of school so I put her hair up in rollers...well Mokey see Monkey do because as soon as a finished sarah's hair Sabrina sat down in front of me and said "My turn!" I tried explaining that her hair was already super curly and did not need curlers...but she could have cared less and we proceeded. UNFORTUNATLY I did not see/get pictures of the end result but wanda said it was quite a sight! But here is something that I am sure no one thought they would see...sabrina with curlers in her hair! And of course sarah too =D

Bryce's Trip to the Temple!

EARTHQUAKE(S)!

OK so I know everyone probably felt the earthquake but OH MY GOODNESS I am going to share what happened with us anyways! So we had just had a BBQ to celebrate Chris's new calling, Elders Quorum President, and Ian's new calling, Young Men's President...Everyone was leaving and then Shake Shake SHAKE SHAKE! It was only a 4.7 BUT it was in Hawthorn which is not too far from us so we really shook!

On to the fun part...Our kitchen cabinets oppened and threw the contents onto the floor (there are no pictures bc I cleaned up and then realized it would have been cool to have some...oh well) So then 20 minutes after the earthquake the power went out, it stayed dark for about 5 minutes and then just came back on. about 45 minutes after the earthquake I had to go potty so I went in the bathroom and saw that our big cabinet had fallen over durring the quake...but my bathtud cought everything bc the doors and stuff all conviently spilled into the tub!

There was also a second earthquake the next day but I didnt feel that one but chris did bc he works right there in south bay!

That was our earthquake experiance! fun huh??

For those of you who dont know I was just called as Stake Camp Director and will need to be released from my other callings...I am okay with that but I am really going to miss them! The Activity Day girls have been great and so focused on getting thier Faith in God awards! I am very sad that I will not be able to see them through to the end but I know they can do it! I am especially going to miss my nursery class! So here are some memories from nursery from the past couple of years(because I had to get Chance and Kylee in there too!)...they are easier to photograph than 8-11 year old girls! ENJOY!

March 2nd was Chris's 27th Birthday! To Celebrate we went out Saturday Night with Amber and her Boyfriend John and Jessie and Ian to Rocking Baja Lobster! It was so Yummy! On His actual birthday he took the day off and came up with me to work and me and Sabrina and Savannah took him out to in n out and for golden spoon...later that night I made hime tri tip...Pretty mellow night! here are some pictures from the restaraunt!

On Valentines day me and Aubrey made some Fudge! It was a lot of fun! She got a little messy but was still a big help...she helped taste the marshmallow cream and she helped with stirring and putting the ingredients into the bowl and then she helped clean the spatula...Chris was our taste tester!

It might be a while until my next post, my car got broken into and my camera was stolen...and my purse and a few other things, So I am just letting you all know! I dropped very large hints about a new camera for Vday..by hints I mean we went to the store and I made chris use his camera phone to take a picture of the camera I wanted...I am so subtle! Other than that chris is still waiting until testing opens up for the Substation opperator job...Fingers crossed everyone!

So there is this game called cootie and you basicly have to build your own little buggy with eyes, feet, mouth, hair acessory, and so on...! It can be lots of fun...or it cannot... We LOVE this game but it is very hard for everyone to be happy, you see there is only one set of bug parts that look like a girl bug, there is one pink body, girly eyes, lips, and a hair bow, and cool rollerskates for tis feet! Well my rule is whoever rolls the number first gets first pick etc, this is the only fair way to do it since thats how the game is played...it causes A LOT of whining though...but here are some pictures of our most recent game of Cootie...enjoy! Oh and incase you can't tell...Sabrina won...and Savannah lost!

So I am going out of order here but @ some point I realized I never put up Halloween pictures so I am going to do that now after the santa pictures, I am sure I will get back on track as soon as I catch everything up on here...SO we went to a couple of trunk or treats and went out on Halloween night to Aunt Shauna and Uncle Al's house...Aubrey was soo excited to see Uncle Al! Aubrey and Sabrina were ariel, Sarah was Hannah Montanna, and Savannah was a cheerleader, and the little boy with Aubrey is Synjin and he was Jack Sparrow...he is in our ward and Aubrey is in LOVE with him, she thinks she is going to marry him but he seems to have other plans (although if she suceeds we can always show this picture at the wedding!)...So here are a whole bunch of pictures from halloween!

This Weekend we went to go see Santa! Aubrey was so excited to see him but got pretty bummed when her turn was over, we came in and took pictures with Santa Clause and then went into a studio to take more pictures, well...she kept trying to break out of that room to go back and find Santa! Then we left to go do some Christmas shopping and she was in the car crying and screaming because she "just missed Santa so much!" Stinking Appendix!

So I am just writing to let you know that updates are on the way! I still have all sorts of things like HALLOWEEN and my b-day and all sorts of other stuff to post BUT... I had to have my Appendix taken out 2 weeks ago and I have been recovering...It didn't help that I was back in the ER less than a week after my surgery with something called Pleurisy, which was an inflammation in the lining of my lungs, so I had chest pain and it was VERY hard to breathe! But Thanks to the support of friends and family I am doing so much better! Sorry there are no pics to go along with this one (well there are but they are not so flattering) So now I am going to start updating!

So i am currently in LOVE with the blog girlydos....It is a lady who does her little girls hair and then posts the how to's....well I try some that look kinda easy and generally I get soooo frusterated that I give up! Well the other day I was feeling adventerous and I tried one out on Aubrey so here is the finished product and I am quite proud! It is supposed to look like a basket weave design!

So for halloween Sabrina is going to be Ariel and we are going to Trunk or Treat tonight so the girls are all going to dress up and Sabrina told me that Ariel did NOT have curly hair and asked if I could make her hair straight just like Ariel....So here are some before and afters...ENJOY!

Bath Time...or Times...

Well we gave Lolly her first bath the day we got her...well I might leave that to the professionals from now on. She was not a very big fan of taking a bath...I didnt get any pictures of her in the actual tub bc it took all of mine and chris's energy to keep her in there long enough to get clean! So here is the aftermath...

And since this is a post about baths...Aubrey went to Sarah's School carnival and her and sabrina got thier hair sprayed pink! It worked out nice for me bc I could spot them a mile away! So I absolutly refused to let aubry sleep with her hair like that...so it was about 9:30 @ night and she had to have a bath and I decided that the pink bubbles in her hair were all kinds of fun so I took pictures

We Got A Dog! Yay! This is our 3 year old beagle mix! I rescued her from the pound and brought her home as a suprise for Chris who really wanted a doggy! She is a very good dog and very good around the girls. She is coming to work with me so she is not home alone all day!

Okay so since I am super proud of my hubbys weight loss I am putting up a picture of us at a football game with one of the YM in the ward, Justin, who plays for Lakewood High...By the way...they won!

Okay so we decided to blow bubbles...it looked like it was going to be a little tricky...but she managed to get some...I wish I would have got a picture of the fit she threw immediatly after when Savannah popped them all!

Okay so we are starting a blog! I always see all the cute ones and I thought it would be fun to have one of my own! For those who don't know Chris is no longer selling stinky shoes he now works for Edison reading meters, and has lost a lot of wieght! (now I need to catch up!=D) But I am very proud of him...and plus the hours are nicer!

As for me...I am still chasing after the girls all day at Jason and Wanda's! Sarah is in 1st grade, Aubrey is in preschool all day. and Sabrina and Savannah are my own personal shadows all day! But we have lots of fun!

Chris is still Young Mens President and loving it...I am still doing too many things and loving it! But my biggest responsibilites @ Church are Activity Days and Nursery Leader!

I will try to keep this updated!!!
